Pulled Pork

Pulled Pork has been a craze for a while now and it’s no secret why 🤤🤤

Marinaded my pork overnight for a deeper level of flavour & using a foil pack for cooking made all the difference in making sure the flavour was absorbed!

Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 140°C. Trim any excess fat from the pork, if you have a large piece, cut it so it can fit in your foil pack.
  2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and black pepper. Rub all over pork, you can do this the night before if you would like.
  3. On the stove, over medium high heat, heat oil in a deep metal oven dish. Add the pork to the hot oil and sear on all sides. (Spices can burn quickly so watch it, it’s just to brown the edges. YUM!)
  4. Pour beer around pork and cover with foil. Move the pork to the oven and cook until pork is beginning to turn tender, about 3 to 4 hours. Remove foil and cook until pork is very tender and pulls apart easily with a fork, 1 to 2 hours more. *Times may vary depending on your oven, pork and how tender you want your meat.
  5. Remove pork from oven, transfer to a plate and let rest while you prepare barbecue sauce.
  6. To make the barbecue sauce: Add tomato sauce, vinegar, mustard, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan drippings in the oven dish as your base, whisk together. Over medium-high heat, bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer until thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.
  7. Shred pork using two forks and toss the shredded meat with about half the barbecue sauce.
  8. Serve warm with buns, a fresh side salad and more barbecue sauce.
