Impress your friends and family by cooking them a fresh bowl of gnocchi from scratch. Seems challenging? Not when you have my sandwich bags in the kitchen! (Serves 4 – 6)
You will need:
Supa Mama ® Sandwich Bags (Large)
450g potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 egg yolks
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
To Make:
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until tender when priced with a fork (roughly 8 to 10 minutes).
- Drain the water and allow to cool.
- Place potatoes in my resealable bag and add the egg yolks, flour, cheese, salt, and nutmeg.
- Seal the bag using the Supa CLICKFRESH™ technology, whilst allowing the air to escape.
- Gently knead the bag by hand until the contents are mashed and mixed.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- With scissors, snip one corner off of the bag to transform it into a piping bag.
- Gently squeeze the dough out of the bag while snipping off 2.5cm segments with clean kitchen scissors, allowing your divine homemade gnocchi to drop into the water.
- Boil for 3 to 5 minutes – the gnocchi will float to the surface of the water. Once cooked, drain well and transfer to clean rimmed baking sheet.
Serving Suggestion:
Did you know that my baking paper is double sided? Scrape off any residue and save for later use!
