Home-made Gnocchi – It’s Easier than you Think!

Impress your friends and family by cooking them a fresh bowl of gnocchi from scratch. Seems challenging? Not when you have my sandwich bags in the kitchen! (Serves 4 – 6)

You will need:

Supa Mama ® Sandwich Bags (Large)
450g potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 egg yolks
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg

To Make:

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until tender when priced with a fork (roughly 8 to 10 minutes).
  2. Drain the water and allow to cool.
  3. Place potatoes in my resealable bag and add the egg yolks, flour, cheese, salt, and nutmeg.
  4. Seal the bag using the Supa CLICKFRESH™ technology, whilst allowing the air to escape.
  5. Gently knead the bag by hand until the contents are mashed and mixed.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  7. With scissors, snip one corner off of the bag to transform it into a piping bag.
  8. Gently squeeze the dough out of the bag while snipping off 2.5cm segments with clean kitchen scissors, allowing your divine homemade gnocchi to drop into the water.
  9. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes – the gnocchi will float to the surface of the water. Once cooked, drain well and transfer to clean rimmed baking sheet.

Serving Suggestion:

Did you know that my baking paper is double sided? Scrape off any residue and save for later use!
